Welcome to my journal. Not all of my posts are locked, but commenting is friends only. If you would like to be added as a friend drop me a line through my profile. Have a wonderful day and "Y'all come back now, hear?"

It's only been about six short weeks since the last time I posted anything here. Shortly after the last time I posted a winter storm moved through my neighborhood. And then another about a week or so later. It was the kind of rain that soaks into the ground instead of running off. Twice there was a 12 hour period of steady, soft, gentle drizzle.

Needing a break from LJ, (I'm too empathic) I decided it was a good time to stop and retune my aura and shake up my chakras. So I have been enjoying the wonderful spring weather. It's been abnormally cool, whereas it has been cookin' by now in the past years. Since this was the first good soaking here in three years, all plants are trying to take advantage of the long awaited moisture.

misc 045rs

It started slowly.  A trickle of color here and a smattering of pastel there.  After a couple weeks I started noticing little patches of wildflowers here and there.  Sand verbenia and primrose began to sprout up everywhere.  Whole fields of sunflowers and dandelions.  Every flower the desert has to offer was in the mix.  Suddenly my teency tiny corner of the planet, my miniscule insignificant portion of the universe is awash with brilliant colors.  Everywhere I look I see flowers of all kinds.  The heavenly scent of the verbenia and primrose and all the others permeates the atmosphere.  The wonderful aroma fills the senses and causes one to feel at ease and at peace with the universe.  Bright pastels and vivid base colors mixed up everywhere so that the mind wonders if this isn't some weird acid trip brought on by some bad bread or something.

I've taken many pictures and plan on taking more next week.  Ive uploaded some to flickr and constructed this little thumbnail gallery for this journal page.  This is just a small sample.  I'll post a notice when I upload more to my photostream.

Have a happy Easter!!  From Mac.

Dear Journal.

Great balls of fire! Has it been two weeks since I scratched out any cyberglyphs? I've got all this empty space provided to me by LJ so I should be grateful and try to squeeze out a few thoughts.

First of all on a personal level.....BRRRRRR! It's cold today. It's only in the 50s. The 50s!!! This time of year the temp is normally in the 60s or 70s. Us desert folk ain't used to these arctic temps. Thar's a cold wind a blowin' through them thar hills. I get it though, it's all thanks to global climate change. I like the cold, it's an indication of a short mild summer. Of course for a short time our temps will be well in the 100s, but it's worth it because of the beauty of the rest of the year. A good solid soaking this time of year will cause the desert to bloom with acres and acres of beautiful wildflowers. When that happens you know I'll be out there to get some wonderful photographs.

I posted to Aura Spectrum last night. I hope someone in the community reads it and leaves a comment. I'm not sure if all the members of the comm. read anything there. There's only a small handful of members that ever comment or post. I was going to do some dissin in my post but alas, the rules forbid it. (laughs out loud) I would like it if more people would get involved but it doesn't break my heart if they don't. I even have friends and a relative in the comm. but they don't post or comment either. Oh well, LOL, the community is for the study of things that are unseen.......go figure. It's a community full of ghosts. Don't get me wrong Journal, I'm not discouraged with the community, everyone in it is a wonderful person. I think we need more members so there will be a steady stream of input. How am I going to accomplish that? Maybe I can hire professional commenters. Like professional mourners at a funeral. Seriously, I think if the members were about 50 then more people would have something to share more often. I guess I'm going to have to come up with some kind of membership drive. Any suggestions?

It's almost a full moon again. I think I might go orb hunting at the oasis. Upon viewing the area with google earth I saw an area which looks like it might have been a major living area at one time or another. There are a lot of trees on the oasis in that area and it's going to be quite spooky. The clearing right next to it gives me vibes from the past. I really need to go visit the site in the daylight so I'll be more familiar with it at night. I'll pencil it in for Sunday.

The Man On The Moon

The moon was out when the sun was still up yesterday. I've never been able to see the man on the moon and often tried to visualize him. I took this pic and there he is and "OMG" He's wearing sunglasses.

I guess the sun is mighty bright up there.

I didn't author this but I like it.  Christmas means little to me anymore since I found out the real birthdate of Jesus Christ.  Don't ask I won't tell.  It's not my job.

*Twas the month before Christmas*
     *When all through our land,*
     *Not a Christian was praying*
     *Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
     * December 25th is just a "Holiday ".*

*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
     *Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
     * At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*

     *Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
;   * Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*

*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*

      Not   Happy Holiday!*

The wind died down to dead last night about the time I wanted  to go out.  I jumped into the 4 runner and headed towards town.  Arriving at my destination about 10pm I noticed that there was way too much traffic for me to feel comfortable.  In my anticipation to get some good photos it completely slipped my mind that Saturday night would be hectic.  I sat in the car for about half an hour waiting for the hustle and bustle of people frantically trying to reach their destinations to end

Finally around 10:30 I entered the cemetery and began taking pictures.  After a few minutes I noticed a fire truck come around  the corner and drive by.  The first thought in my head when I saw it was "He's going to notify the sheriff that I'm here."  With that I decided I had about fifteen minutes.  A couple minutes later another fire truck drove by.  My thought was "He's going to notify the man that I'm still here."  So I got back in the car, started it and prepared to leave.  Then I remembered that I wanted to take some photos with the strobe on to test my theory.  I had turned the strobe off before I started.  I shut off the engine, turned the red eye reduction strobe back on in the camera and took a couple of pictures from outside the fence. Then I returned to the car and was sitting there preparing to leave.  I thought I might go down the next road and take some pics of the oasis from outside the fence.

Just as I was reaching for the ignition I looked in my rearview mirror and there was a sheriff cruiser creeping past me.  Great, I thought.  I hope he doesn't stop and hassle me.  He slowly crept past me and stopped 25 yards up the road, right where the turn is to go by the oasis.  He stopped right after I had started the car and put my foot on the brake to engage the tranny.  Not wanting to look suspicious I put the car in reverse and backed out onto the street.  Then he turned right down the road I was going to take.  So thinking maybe he would leave and I could still get some oasis pics I turned down the same road behind him.  He was going real slow and I knew he knew it was me behind him.  4 runners have a very distinct headlight configuration.  My ESP told me if I stopped to take photos that he would circle around the block and confront me.  So I thought it would be prudent to just call it a night and go home.

As I turned toward the highway I noticed the cruiser was driving in front of the entrance to the Inn.  By the time I reached the highway he was behind me about a quarter mile back.  I got on the highway and headed home.  I live 17 miles outside of town.  About two miles out of town I noticed some headlights way behind me coming up fast.  ESP said it was the police.  I thought to myself why would he be following me out of town unless he planned on stopping me.  I soon noticed that there were two sets of lights coming up behind me.  So I maintained my speed at 60 and remained calm and waited for the red light.  The cops around here shine a bright red spotlight in your sideview mirror when they stop you.  Soon the car was right up my tailpipe and I could see it was indeed a sheriff cruiser with another one right behind him.  The speed limit on this part of the highway is 65 so I
knew I wouldn't be stopped for speeding.  The first one blew around me and the second one followed him as I let my breath out in relief.  It was obvious that they had bigger fish to fry than me right then.  They must have been on a call.  My ESP didn't tell me they were on a call, it just notified me they were there.

Most of the pics I took have at least one orb in them but the last one I took with the strobe has the best.  This lends creedence to my hypothesis that the red eye reduction strobe makes the orbs more visible.  I'll post pictures in Aura Spectrum when I get around to it.  Today I'm just going to kick it for the rest of the day.  So till then...Peace everyone!
